CESAR BELDA - Musical director and composer

Cesar Belda was born in Madrid, and studied Piano, Chamber music and Improvastion at the Royal Higher Conservatory of Music of Madrid, finishing his degrees at 18. He studies piano with Mariles Rentería and Guillermo González; chamber music with Luis Rego; and Improvisation and Pedagogy with Emilio Molina. He wides his knowledgement with Andras Schiff, Fernando Escobar and Giancarlo Simonacci (piano), Mercedes Padilla, Juan José García Caffi (conducting), and he specialized on musical theatre with Luis Ramírez and Juan José García Caffi. Pedagogy Degree by University of Madrid – Universidad Complutense. 

He worked as music teacher at the conservatories of Madrid State (1998-2003), as well as improvisation teacher in several courses all over Spain . Member of IEM, his master's organization focused on spread a new concept on music teaching through analysis and improvisation. Founder of the Contemporary Music Group of the Royal Higher Conservatory of Music of Madrid .

In the theatre world, he has been musical director and arranger of the following musicals: "A chorus line", "Little shop of horrors", "Falsettoland", "La magia de Broadway","Jekyll & Hyde", "Annie", "Blood brothers", "La cage aux folles", "Peter Pan", "Aladdin", "La magia de Broadway 2" , and "Man of la Mancha ". He also has made the casting process for all of them auditioning more than 10.000 people. Musical director of the "Luis Ramírez" Fuengirola Musical Theatre Festival. Musical director and producer for the recordings of the musicals "Annie", "Peter Pan", "Aladdin", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Man of la Mancha ". And also the operas "Die zauberflöte" "La traviata" and "Marina".

As composer he is author of the musicals "Aladdin" (in pop style, Fuengirola 2004), "Romeo and Juliet" (coming soon) and "Gaia" (enviromental musical to the childhood, Madrid , 2005), as well as songs for "Peter Pan" (Madrid 2002), "La cage aux folles" (Madrid 2001), and "Man of la Mancha " (Madrid 2004). He also collaborated in the creation of the book of "Aladdin" and "Romeo and Juliet". He collaborated for the developement of the third (unseen) version of the Macintosh-Boublil-Schonberg success "Martin Guerre".  

In the cinema field he has studied with Carlos Saura, Roque Baños, Academy Award winner Stephen Warbeck, Patrick Doyle, Eduardo Armenteros, José Luis Crespo, José Miguel Martínez... His works has been recorded or played by the Orchestra of the Spanish Broadcast System or the Young Orchestra of the Madrid State.

He is arranger or pianist por Orquesta Filarmonia, Eurolirica company and Grupo Operistico de Madrid. Musical director of the Getafe Opera Company.
